We are really proud of the work our Tenants & Resident Groups achieve. Gilfoot TARA Action Group accomplish so much and make a huge difference to their community, where they strive to make Gilfoot and surrounding areas a safe, desirable and thriving community. See below an update on what’s been happening and events that are upcoming.
- Opened up the constitution to cover more areas within Newmilns and arranged a walk around with members within the council and got issues such as, fencing, lighting, pavements & tree removal.
- Helped individual residents who experienced hardships and provided them with new appliances which greatly helped them and their families.
- A Community Gardens Asset transfer was completed and we were very kindly donated a Tiki hut. We have placed this at the gardens for all the community to use and enjoy .
- Their main aims are to bring families and friends together at any one of our successful events we hold throughout the year such as:- Halloween disco, Sparktacular Gilfoot, Remembrance Sunday, Pantomime, Christmas fun day as well as fundraisers such as a Psychic night & Drinks hamper raffle.
- TIS Awards 2024 – The group have yet again made the finalist stage for tenants group of the year and will be attending the awards in November, whatever the outcome may be they are extremely thankful and proud to have been recognised for our work. As are we at The Federation.
